Today is 16th September, n Devu called me yesterday night, asking for to deliver a speech on Ozone . Then only I realized the significance of the day and had a quick preparation for the same.

It was conducted as a part of our subject associated activity by the Department of Physical Science students under the coordination of Devu A.M. The celebration was conducted in online-mode. Students from all department participated in the programme.

World Ozone Day is observed on September 16 every year. It is celebrated to spread awareness among the people about the depletion of the ozone layer and search for possible solutions to preserve it. On this day people from all over the world hold talks and seminars o the topic. The Ozone layer was discovered in 1913 by the French Physicist Charles Fabry and Herg Buyssan. The theme for 2021 for international day for the preservation for the ozone layer is "Montreal Protocol keeping as our food and vaccines cool."

Due to Covid situation the programme was conducted through online mode. Programmes were coordinated by Devu A.M. Introduction of the programme was explained by Arya S.M. The programme started with a prayer song by Megha P.K. After the prayer, Ozone Day celebration was inaugurated by our respected principal Dr. T.V. Kunhiraman. He gave a good speech related to Ozone day's relevance. After that Nikhil Jith presented a video related to the importance of Ozone day and Ozone layer. Then Parvathi R.
